Mexican students at UCCS as part of Proyecta 100,000
This fall, 22 Mexican students came to UCCS on Oct. 14. Students arrived at UCCS as part of Proyecta 100,000, which seeks to have 100,000 Mexican students studying in the U.S. by 2018. Students will remain in Colorado Springs until Nov. 10.
Town Hall to examine retention rates
A Campus Town Hall will be held on Nov. 15 to discuss student retention and ways to brainstorm opportunities to optimize this topic.
Chancellor Venkat Reddy and Susan Szpyrka, vice chancellor of Administration and Finance, will host the meeting from 10 – 11:30 a.m. in UC 303.
About 65 percent of UCCS students stayed on campus from their freshman to sophomore years last year.
Faculty and staff are encouraged to attend.
Puerto Rico Material Drive!
The Lation Student Union, the excel centers and MOSAIC will host the Puerto Rico Material Drive through Nov. 10. The even began yesterday.
The organizations will collect bottled water, canned food, baby food, baby formula, hygiene products, D batteries, awnings, nonperishable food and over-the-counter medicine, along with packaged clothing.
