While we near the end of the Fall 2018 semester, we rear closer to the dreaded week of finals. But, before that week, we have dead week that we must partake in. Dead week is a time for students and teachers to catch up on work and grading, allowing students the ability to study for the horrid finals they are oh-so worried about. During dead week, there are a few things that students should keep in mind.

  1. Don’t panic. If you start breaking down you are just going to dig yourself into a deeper hole. Dead week is the last week before finals week. You only roughly have 2 more weeks left of schools – this is not the time to panic, it is the time to power through and finish the semester on a good note.

  2. Study, study, study. You have an entire week that is basically dedicated to you studying for your finals. Don’t waste this time that you have, use it so you can ace your finals. Also, if you have papers due, use this time to write those papers so you aren’t panicking and writing it the night before it’s due.

  3. Relax and get excited. Instead of worrying about finals and the lack of sleep that you will be enduring, try to think about how great it will be when you turn in your last final and finish the semester. This is a time to get excited, either for Spring of 2019 or for graduation if you are finally done.

Overall, dead week is an important time that you should take full advantage of. Use it to study, use it to write, or use it to get excited for the end of the semester or graduation. You did it, you finished Fall of 2018, and you should be proud of that!
