Incidents on campus

 

    On-campus drug reports and thefts in August, compiled Aug. 25:

 

Alpine Garage and Field: 1 theft

Antero House: 1 liquor violation

Copper House: 1 suspicious odor

Cucharas House: 1 drug violation, 1 suspicious odor, 1 liquor violation

Eldora House: 1 theft

La Plata House: 1 drug violation

Lot 573: 1 theft

San Juan: 1 liquor violation

Shavano House: 1 drug violation

Steamboat House: 1 liquor violation

Burglary (Five minutes from UCCS)

3900 block of North Academy Blvd.

Aug. 25, 12:38 a.m.

     An alarm alerted police to a burglary at a marijuana dispensary. The suspect used a vehicle to enter the dispensary, and took numerous items from the business. The investigation is still ongoing.

 

Arrest (Nine minutes from UCCS)

1900 Sussex Lane

Aug. 23, 10:10 p.m.

    The victim ran from his house to ask neighbors for help upon being attacked. The suspect aggressively approached a responding officer, who attempted to deescalate the situation. After a brief struggle, the suspect was subdued and arrested. The suspect was arrested for second and third-degree assault and harassment.

 

Robbery (Seven minutes from UCCS)

3600 N. Academy Blvd.

Aug. 21, 6:40 p.m.

    Multiple suspects unknown to the victim knocked loudly on the victim’s door demanding entry. The resident, 21, was assaulted inside and outside of the apartment. Multiple valuable items were taken from the apartment. The victim refused medical treatment despite obvious injuries. Investigation of the suspects is continuing.

 

Pursuit (Nine minutes from UCCS)

2500 Block of E. Uintah Street

Aug. 20, 10:28 a.m.

    Officers approached a suspicious vehicle and attempted contact with the vehicle occupants. The driver rammed into a police cruiser. Officers pursued the vehicle to N. Union Blvd., where the suspect caused another vehicle to roll over.

    Three occupants, a mother and her two children, were transported to a hospital. No serious injuries were reported. The vehicle under pursuit had been previously reported as stolen, and officers arrested three juveniles from the stolen vehicle.

 

 

Shooting (Five minutes from UCCS)

3958 N. Academy Blvd.

Aug. 20, 1:21 a.m.

    The Colorado Springs Police Department received multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting a shooting in the parking lot at 3958 N. Academy Blvd. Stetson Hills Patrol Officers located an adult male in the parking lot with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim later died in the hospital.
