Photospread: Men’s soccer falls short against Roger’s State, loses first match of season 

The UCCS men’s soccer team played against Roger’s State last weekend on September 16th. This game marked UCCS’s first loss of the year in a close game with the final score at 2-1.  

UCCS and Roger’s State both ended the first half recording one goal with Roger’s State scoring early on and UCCS scoring closer to the end of the half. Roger’s State recorded their second goal at 74:10 giving them the lead and the win.  

Redshirt senior midfielder #10 Kaydon Zamora-Reeves and sophomore goalkeeper #30 Soren Russel led the Saturday soccer match, with Zamora-Reeves scoring a goal as well as adding two shots on goal for UCCS. Senior defenseman #25 Noah Espino-Kennedy and senior defenseman #5 Luke Sussex each received a red card that ejected them from the match. Overall, UCCS had 12 shots in the first half and nine in the second half.
