Rec center offering student employment opportunities this semester

UCCS’ Rec Center has recently posted several different job openings for students on SEANS and plans to post more throughout the semester.

Currently the Rec Center is looking to hire new lifeguards, trail crew assistants, swim instructors, group fitness instructors and summer camp counselors.

Some of the jobs will require prior experience, but there are also a wide variety of entry level opportunities available. More specific details about the requirements for each position are listed within the postings on SEANS.

The Rec Center is also expecting to post currently filled positions as they open up. These openings will likelu include sport supervisors, officials for intramural sports, building managers and fitness center monitors.

According to Krista Ziegler, the manager of Membership and Marketing at the Rec Center, the recent surge of new job openings is due to the new semester beginning. The Rec Center employs over 100 students for different roles, so it’s natural for some of them to open up when a new semester begins.

Ziegler said that working for the Rec Center offers students many benefits, like excellent work experience and the chance to network with other students and organizations.

Students who are looking for more information about the new job postings should check on SEANS or email the Rec Center at [email protected]
