Over 300 students and 30 employers attended the second annual student job fair on Aug. 24 in Berger Hall, according to Shannon Cable, the assistant director for Student Employment.

The fair appealed to students interested in seeking full-time or part-time positions that accommodate their hectic school schedule.

Cable said there was a high turnout for the event this year.

“I was really happy to see how great the turnout was. The students came out in groves, and the employers were great,” said Cable.

Cable also elaborated on the types of fields that were hiring at the event, which were plentiful.

“We didn’t have any duplication of services really, so we had everything from healthcare to administrative positions, to campus based educational positions, and many more,” said Cable.

The fair is aimed at working around student schedules, which helps out students such as junior exercise science major Alyssa Kimber.

“I’m looking for something flexible around my schedule,” said Kimber. ”I’m a full-time student, so that’s important to me.”

According to Cable, one of the most popular hiring kiosks was the Great Wolf Lodge, which was looking to hire students for their new location.
