While there’s plenty of coffee shops and quirky restaurants around the Springs, there isn’t many juice bars; however, Ola Juice Bar in downtown Colorado Springs on E. Kiowa Street exceeds all expectations.
Ola Juice bar is friendly for all types of food preferences or diets with vegan and vegetarian options, since it is solely plant based.
To quote the juice bar, “Ola is a way of life. We believe that individuals can own their health, and choosing nutrient-dense, easily digestible nutriment is a necessary step in taking control. Through our juices, smoothies and food, we promote health and vitality, with a special focus on refueling, recharging, and recovery for athletes, those with an active lifestyle, and anyone who wants to take control of their health.
Ola’s menu is plant-based, mostly organic, gluten-free and raw. We use locally grown produce and local businesses as much as possible.”
Not only is this juice bar a place for everyone, it also tries to give back to the community and be mindful of the environment and its impact.
According to their website, “The food we offer at Ola is not only better for people, it’s better for the planet. Environmental impact is another reason we are a plant-based restaurant and choose to use local produce. We use compostable to-go items, including boxes, cups, straws, and flatware; we purchase used equipment when possible; and we have prioritized recycling and composting at our juice bar in an effort to minimize our environmental impact. We thrive in a local community and do everything we can to give back.”
My personal favorite item on the menu is the Estelle’s Açaí Bowl with peanut butter. The combination of chocolate chips, coconut flakes, bananas, strawberries, granola, a drizzle of honey and the açaí mix leaves me full and refreshed with nutrient dense food.
The atmosphere, including the employees, background music and welcoming vibes adds to the experience. If you don’t feel like dining in, you can order to-go on their app and pick it up.
Aside from juices, drinks and the bowls, Ola has salads, soups and more to satisfy your savory cravings. As someone who was a vegetarian for over a year, Ola Juice Bar was a place that I felt like I had numerous options rather than just one or two.
If you are looking for a place that is kind to the environment, has clean eating options, and is just a short drive away from campus, then Ola Juice Bar is a great option.
