What better way to tackle late-night homework than with a warm cup of coffee, a snack and a cozy environment? Homa Café offers all of that and more.
As a night person, one of my least favorite things is when a coffee shop closes at 2 p.m. Homa Café stands out as a solid late-night option — closing at 9 p.m. — for students who don’t mind a little caffeine after dark and need a comfortable place to sit, focus and lock in.
Now for the most important part: the coffee and food. Overall, the coffee is fine. While it wasn’t bad by any means, it didn’t particularly stand out. I’ve tried several drinks, including a latte, matcha, and both hot and iced chai. Each was solid but ultimately average — nothing life-changing.
The food, however, is where Homa Café really shines. I ordered the shoestring fries served with a lemongrass sambal aioli, and it was easily the highlight of my visit. In fact, I’m still thinking about it. The menu offers a wide variety of snacks, lunch and dinner options, as well as coffee, tea and soft drinks.
Drink prices range from $5 to $6, while food items average around $12, making it reasonably priced for students looking for a late-night bite.
Homa Café is about 17 minutes from campus, making it an accessible off-campus study spot. The overall atmosphere is cozy with a modern European feel.
Seating options are diverse and thoughtfully arranged, including hanging chairs, two-person seating nooks, couches near fireplaces, and long tables designed for group work. During my evening visit, the noise level was quiet enough for studying, though it may vary depending on the time of day.
Overall, I would say that Homa Café’s strong points are in its late-night hours, food and diverse seating options. Some drawbacks for students would be the distance from campus, the fact that you do have to pay for parking before 8 p.m., and that there are limited outlets to plug your computer into. However, if you are cramming for an exam or need a change of scenery, Homa Café is a great place to check out.
