Sometimes, waking up early to make a nutritious breakfast can feel daunting. Picking up something quick from fast food can leave us feeling broke and unhealthy. But what if there was a way to make a healthy, easy breakfast meal before you walk out the door?
This smoothie bowl recipe is from PurelyKaylie. This recipe takes five minutes, makes three servings and it can provide energy throughout the day. This recipe will run you about $27.32 and the ingredients can be bought at your local Walmart.
Ingredients:
- One bag of semi-thawed out sliced bananas ($2.68)
- 2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter ($1.98)
- Strawberries, optional ($1.97)
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract ($3.94)
- ¼ cup almond milk ($3.47)
- Some cashews ($6.32)
Directions:
For starters, put the bananas, peanut butter, vanilla extract and almond milk into a blender or mixer.
While blending the ingredients together, you can add more milk if you would like to change the consistency.
After getting the consistency that you prefer, move the smoothie into a bowl and top it with the ingredients of your choosing. For me, I topped it with a chopped banana, some cashews and two chopped up strawberries.
When it comes to making and preparing the bowl itself, it is up to you how it’s assembled as it is all preference. But at the end of the day, now you have learned to make something that can be whipped up in the morning or as an after-class snack.
