Course carts opened on April 13, but some of us decided to walk—not run—to sign up for our fall semester classes.
Luckily, UCCS has a designated course registration process for chronic procrastinators, comprised of all the best courses the university has to offer (after the one you wanted filled up). Here are some of the most intriguing courses still open for those that missed the memo the first time.
HIST 8000 – All there is to know about Samurai armor
An 8000-level course with no prerequisites, what could go wrong? This class is suitable for dudes that know just a liiiiitle too much about the Romans, the Qing dynasty and the Civil War.
The good news is that your newly hired academic advisor who will be taking a permanent personal leave next week is about 60% sure that it will count toward your graduation requirements. Enjoy.
Smells 1000 – Whew
You might not be a computer science major like the other students, but it’s all that’s open. Get ready to become fluent in Python in this Session B intensive.
You’ll be able to tell where the classroom is, just follow the green stink lines. Good luck.
The Gauntlet of Fire 3400
Hey, you actually know the professor that teaches this one! Who knew Rate My Professor scores could dip into the negatives? This 6 a.m. course doesn’t have a set topic yet, and it likely never will—you’ll have to guess.
Interested students can contact [email protected] for more information (he will not respond to you). Also, you’re already behind on reading.
The Horrors 4320 – The American Political System
Oh, this one is mislabeled on the course catalogue, sorry. It’s just a PSC class.
PSY 2500 – Uncomfortable Silence
In this innovative, flipped-classroom setup, students will have the opportunity to hear all of their classmates’ deepest, darkest experiences before 9 a.m. Please come prepared to share at least five horrifying inside thoughts with this group of total strangers.
The prerequisites for this class include PHIL 1000 or a certificate in talking over professors.
AHH 3060 – Yelling Practice
Held right outside of Sennifer Jobanet’s office.
SOC 2190 – Introduction to Deviance
This one isn’t even a joke; I’m taking it. Hoping to get a how-to.
