National Coming Out Day Celebration
The Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual and Transgender Resource Center will host the National Coming Out Day Celebration on Oct.11 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in UC 116.
The event will highlight on-campus resources, LGBTQ organizations and include food, music and games.

Peak FreQuency presents Shakuhachi and Ichigenkin
The VAPA Music Program will host Peak FreQuency Presents: Shakuhaci and Ichigenkin – Discovery in a Single Tone, on Oct. 11 at 7:30 p.m. in the Heller Center for Arts & Humanities.
The program will include traditional Japanese works played with traditional Japanese instruments. New compositions, such as Elizabeth Brown’s “autumn comes round again,” and poetry written by survivors of the 2011 Tohuku earthquake and tsunami will also be included.

Just Talk: The ’92 LA Riots
The Kraemer Family Library will host Just Talk: The ’92 LA Riots on Oct. 12 from 7-8:30 p.m. in the library’s 3rd Floor Apse.
Senior history instructor Barbara Headle will share her firsthand experience as part of the 1992 Los Angeles riots that occurred after a jury acquitted four officers in the Los Angeles Police Department from using excessive force against Rodney King.

Freebie Friday
Students can stop by the Student Life and Leadership Office from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 13 to receive free gifts. The event will occur on the second Friday of each month.
