The UCCS Alumni Relations and Annual Giving Office, in partnership with Ent Credit Union, will provide free travel mugs as well as coffee and hot cocoa to students on May 13. The semi-annual event known as Finals Survival Coffee helps students kick off finals week with a cup of liquid encouragement and support.
“Finals Survival Coffee is one of several end-of-semester/commencement events and activities sponsored by the UCCS Alumni office. Most of these have been happening for the past 3-5 years,” said Joanna Bean, director of alumni relations and annual fund, via email.
Bean explained that there are many other activities and events sponsored by the Alumni Relations and Annual Giving Office:
Traditions challenge, which culminates in a medal students wear at commencement.
Class gift, an opportunity for graduating seniors to make a donation to a UCCS scholarship of their choice as a way to “pay it forward” to the next generation of Mountain Lions. Class gift donors wear a cord and are recognized at commencement.
Legacy cord, which graduating students wear at commencement to recognize their legacy connection to UCCS.
Grad Bash (Ent Credit Union also is a sponsor of this with the Alumni Office and Student Life). This event is a party for graduating seniors and guest that happens in Berger Hall on May 15 from 5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m. The night includes food, beverages, a pint glass for graduating seniors, music, photo booth and a toast from UCCS alumnus.
Finals Survival Coffee will take place on Monday, May 13 from 8 a.m. until approximately 10:30 a.m. in University Center, tabling outside of Berger Hall. Tumblers and coffee or hot chocolate are free to students until supply runs out.
The events’ person of contact is Lisa Bartholme. She can be reached at [email protected].
