Freeze Fest 2026: What to expect

Student Life is hosting Freeze Fest, an indoor-outdoor event featuring ice skating, free food and arts and crafts on Wednesday, Jan. 28 from 4 to 7 p.m.

The event will take place in Berger Hall and the upper plaza of the University Center, near Big Cat Coffee. The plaza will be open for ice skating. Arts and crafts options, such as painting and do-it-yourself glitter jars, will be available in the hall.

There will also be free food and drinks for all attendees, including Louie’s Pizza and hot chocolate.

Freeze Fest was part of Winter Welcome Week — which ran from Jan. 20 to Jan. 24 — but was rescheduled due to inclement weather. Student Life hosts Winter Welcome Week at the beginning of each spring semester to build excitement for the start of classes.

According to Noelle San Souci, director of Student Life, “[Winter Welcome Week’s] events help returning students get back into the swing of classes while also offering a warm introduction for the many new students joining campus this spring.”
