UCCS Economic Forum discusses local, national forecasts

    The UCCS Economic Forum was hosted last Friday at the Antlers Hotel in downtown Colorado Springs. The forum, directed by Tatiana Bailey, is in its 21st year.

    The purpose of this forum is to share forecasts for the local, national and international economies, especially considering the economic prosperity of 2016 in Colorado Springs.

    Chancellor Venkat Reddy gave the welcoming address. UCCS alumnus Samuel Elliott, former student body president, attended the meeting as master of ceremonies.

 

Ethics First kickoff event to be held Oct. 5

    Students are able to register for the Ethics First kickoff event, which will be held Oct. 5 in Berger Hall.

   The event runs from 8 a.m.-noon and will feature Chancellor Venkat Reddy, as well as Jim Parke, CEO of Blue Ocean Enterprises and Otter Products of Fort Collins.

    The event aims to encourage discussion in small groups of UCCS community members on ethics in business and our community.

 

Green Action Fund accepting project applications

    Students can submit project ideas that require over $15,000 to the Green Action Fund until Nov. 6. Smaller projects are due Nov. 13.

    Projects can approach many areas of sustainability efforts on campus, including transportation, waste reduction and food.
