The main stage theater in the Ent Center building will be named after Chancellor Emerita Pam ShockleyZalabak, after approximately $1.5 million was raised in her name.

A dedication event for Shockley-Zalabak is being planned for February 2018, after the Ent Center opens in the prior month.

The funds had not originally been met by the date of the fundraiser’s completion, on April 2, but the goal was met after a $75,000 donation from the Boettcher Foundation.

Exercise medicine program

The Exercise is Medicine on Campus program, comprised of UCCS faculty, staff and several exercise science students, was awarded gold status by the Exercise is Medicine on Campus Advisory Group of the American College of Sports Medicine.

This program emphasizes physical activity as an essential component of health, and works to provide students the resources and tools to be more physically active.
