PHOTOSPREAD | Lacrosse narrowly drops home opener 13-9

UCCS women’s lacrosse opened their season on Feb. 27 at Mountain Lion Field against Findlay and started their season with a 13-9 loss to the Oilers. The Mountain Lions had a strong start but were outscored in the second quarter 7-2.

Senior attacker Julia Patrick scored the first goal for UCCS and the first of three goals for Patrick during the match. Freshman midfielder Sarah Urbanic and junior defender Erica Rivera both scored two goals for the Mountain Lions, while sophomore midfielder Peyton Ross and freshman midfielder Kiley Cuddahy both added a goal.

Up next, the Mountain Lions will continue their home stand against Dominican on Mar. 4 at 4 p.m. and Concordia, St. Paul on Mar. 6 at 3 p.m.
