Staff Picks: What fictional characters should be president

In light of the recent election and the anxiety surrounding it, the Scribe staff decided it would be a good idea to lighten the mood through some presidential-themed humor.

The Scribe staff share the fictional characters they think would make good presidents, from “Lord of the Rings” characters to the Powerpuff Girls.

Paul Czarnecki | Editor-in-Chief

Mr. Peanut Butter from “Bojack Horseman.” Obvious reasons.

Nick Smith | Managing Editor

I want Captain Jack Sparrow as my president. As a resident in a landlocked state, I’d follow that man through the depths of the ocean and back.

Ellie Myers | Associate Editor

I think Aragorn son of Arathorn, heir of Isildur and king of Gondor, would do a pretty good job.

Zee O’Donnell | Features Editor

I think Annabeth Chase would make a great president. She’s intelligent, well-informed, knows how to do her research and can successfully lead a team of people with diverse opinions and beliefs to reach an end goal.

Kate Marlett | Copy Editor

I have two answers: a serious one and a silly one. The serious one is Captain Kathryn Janeway (from “Star Trek: Voyager”), because she brought both sides of her crew together and got the Voyager home. The silly answer is Weyoun from “Star Trek: Deep Space” Nine because he’s a silly guy and I love him.

Grace Brajkovich | Reporter

All three of the Powerpuff Girls together.

Kaylie Foster | Reporter

Tom James from “Veep.” Everyone loves Tom James.

Noah March | Reporter

Gandalf, because he is the wisest of them all.
