The Study Break: “You, Me & Tuscany”

“You, Me & Tuscany” has to be one of the worst romcoms to hit theaters in the last decade. Did you put off your google slides presentation for class until the last minute? Chances are it will still turn out better than this film.

When Anna (Halle Bailey) breaks into an Italian villa, she poses as the owner’s fiancée to avoid being caught. After meeting the owner’s brother Michael (Regé-Jean Page), she discovers a love that could change her life forever.

Directed by Kat Coiro and written by Ryan and Kristin Engle, this work is not nearly interesting. It takes more than half an hour for the narrative to really pick up and become engaging.

Don’t let the Bridgerton man fool you either. Page was the only semi-positive part of this movie. Though his acting was average, the horrible script he was given makes this an impressive feat.

The cinematography and the lighting of the whole film made me feel like I had landed on the Hallmark channel. It was cheap and did the bare minimum to pass as something that could be shown in theaters.

This is a must-skip movie. If you have a presentation that you’re nervous about, don’t be. Anything would be more entertaining than “You, Me & Tuscany.”
