The Scribe has recently been concerned that all of their articles are being published on the UCCS app without their knowledge, robbing their website of viewership and valuable data.
“You know what really chaps my lips? Plagiarism,” Scribe Editor-in-Chief Paul Czarnecki said when the initial rumor started.
Many at the paper have had these suspicions for a long time but been unable to check due to time restraints.
“I don’t have time to investigate rumors. I’m not getting paid to investigate. I have minutes upon minutes of homework,” communication major and news reporter Jimp Vito said.
The implications of losing viewership to an alternative source could be devastating for The Scribe. Based on current estimates of revenue loss, the company could miss out on at least two pizza parties and one Waffle Wednesday.
The Scribe’s reputation is on the line as well, putting its audience of eight semi-avid readers at a loss for where to get their information.
When contacted about the rumors, UCCS authorities released the following statement:
“The school has a newspaper?”
Things are looking better for The Scribe, as authorities work the case to find out if the plagiarism rumor is true.
In the meantime, The Scribe urges its readers to check out its other articles with movie reviews, pumpkin carving contests and keeping up with the Board of Regent seat for District 5.
Readers are also welcome to read those same articles here, where we will be able to see the statistics and have a better knowledge of how our content is being consumed.
