The preliminary results for the 2026-2027 SGA elections were released on March 6 when voting concluded. Official results will be released by the Election Commissioner once they have been approved, per SGA’s election policy.
SGA members serve as representatives for the student body by creating and voting on initiatives. Students can approach members with concerns that members are then responsible for presenting at SGA meetings.
Executive Branch
The executive branch includes the president, vice president and the director of finance.
Walat Gozeh and Asher Early won with 431 votes, compared to Dionisio Marcelo and Benny Curtin’s 180 votes and Cienna Daniels and Zachary Hoffa’s 160 votes.
Bennett Schafer is the new director of finance with 633 votes, although 255 voters abstained.
The Senate
The legislative branch, also known as the Senate, is comprised of seven senators-at-large, five specialized senators and 21 senators who represent colleges and programs.
The Senate allocates student activity funds through initiatives meant to represent the student body.
The new senators-at-large are Catalina Clay, Keira McWilliams, Ben Campos, Logan Smith, Nate Mushlin and Hunter Roren.
The new senator of multicultural affairs is Sofia Voicu with 263 votes. Her opponents, Gift Faleru and Adonis Leach, received 206 and 125 votes respectively.
The senator of clubs, organizations, and fraternity and sorority life is the incumbent, Olivia Abeyta, who received 346 votes compared to her opponent’s 276 votes.
The senator of the College of Engineering and Applied Science is also the incumbent, Shivani Sharma, who received 447 votes compared to her opponent’s 154 votes.

- Senator of the College of Public Affairs: Ben Moses
