At UCCS, simply buying a burrito can show school spirit.
Sorority Phi Sigma Sigma will host a fundraiser to benefit their sorority at Chipotle, located on 5102 N. Nevada Ave., from 4-6 p.m. on Sept. 8.
Students who decide to buy a meal during this time should let the cashier know that they’re supporting Phi Sigma Sigma, and 50 percent of the proceeds will be donated to their sorority, according to Jordyn Galvin, junior member of Phi Sigma Sigma.
“The fundraiser is going to our chapter for many reasons, such as promotional insignia and other events we have on campus. We love seeing other students supporting organizations on campus and hope to see many there,” said Jordyn Galvin, a junior member of Phi Sigma Sigma.
Phi Sigma Sigma’s mission is to “foster uncompromising principes, ignitepositive chang, and embrace individuality,” according to the Greek Life website.
Audri Gilmore, president of Phi Sigma Sigma, said that she was appreciative of Chipotle for providing a location for the sorority’s fundraiser.
“We really appreciate that the [University Village Center] Chipotle is willing to allow us, as well as so many other UCCS clubs and organizations, to fundraise for our chapter through them,” said Gilmore.
“We are really hoping to have a large turnout of not only students, but faculty and staff as well,” said Gilmore.
“Our sorority, as all Greek life on the UCCS campus, prides itself on creating a community of inclusiveness and diversity.”
