The mountain lion sculpture in front of El Pomar Plaza was unveiled on Aug. 23. The sculpture recently moved from its former location next to the University Center and was rededicated after sculptor Ernest Geolfos donated a marble slab for the statue to rest on.

Chandler Bergen, a retired U.S. Army Lt. Col., donated the statue in dedication to his late wife in 2004.

Over 200 people attended the event, including Bergen, chancellor Pamela Shockley-Zalabak, SGA president Sam Elliott, student athletes and the UCCS mascot Clyde.
