Fall 2025 concert cost approximately $10,000 more than fall 2024 concert

The fall 2025 concert featuring Yung Gravy, held at the Recreation Center in late August, cost approximately $80,000 according to Director of Student Engagement Noelle San Souci.

The concert was funded by SGA, UCCS radio and Student Life. SGA covered $70,000 of the costs, including the artist and production, UCCS radio funded $5,000 for additional artist costs, and Student Life covered the rest of the costs, which amounted to a “couple thousand” dollars, according to San Souci.

Student Life also used the revenue generated from ticket sales to cover the remaining costs, such as additional security, off-duty cops and a medical emergency response vehicle on site.

Student tickets were free, guest and faculty tickets cost $12. According to San Souci, approximately $3,000 was generated in ticket sales.

The concert sold out at 1,500 tickets, but additional students were let in around 8:30 p.m. with sold tickets that were not scanned at the concert.

“[Student Life] told students who would call our office, ‘Hey, if you come around 8 to 8:30 p.m., we’ll see where we’re at with scan-ins,’ just because we have a certain allowance based upon fire code and I would say any student who came was able to get in,” said San Souci.

UCCS began hosting a fall concert in response to student feedback. The artist is chosen by a concert committee consisting of a representative from MOSAIC, radio and multiple clubs and organizations as well as some students. According to San Souci, the committee considers student preferences and affordability when choosing an artist.

The committee uses How To Concerts to plan and produce live events and find artists at affordable rates.

“[How to concerts] were able to work with us and reach an agreement on a price. I think [Yung Gravy] would have been out of our price range, usually—he probably would have been double what we paid—but he really likes college shows, and he was excited to come,” San Souci said.
