PHOTOSPREAD | Baseball finishes 2-2 for weekend matches against Regis University

The UCCS baseball team played the Regis Rangers in an April 5 and 6 doubleheader, closing the weekend with a matchup on April 7. The team split the series, with Sunday being a heavy hitting game for the Mountain Lions.

During the first game of the doubleheader, infielder Caleb Stubbings recorded three home runs. Center fielder Hayden Iverson was the lead with three hits to conclude the four-game series. Third baseman Alec Gomez led the Mountain Lions during the first game with four hits. In game 2, Iverson was the leading batter with four hits followed by designated hitter Kit Wigington with three hits to conclude the double-header.

Up next, the Mountain Lions will play New Mexico Highlands in Las Vegas for a four-game series starting April 12. They will return home on April 19 to play Colorado Mesa in another four-game series.
