This year, I wanted to experience the way Colorado Springs celebrates Valentine’s Day by heading to Old Colorado City and capturing the little shops and their decorations for the holiday. This town cares a lot about one another, and the photos are a nice way of reminding us how much love there is to spread around.

This year was the first time in a long time that I have been single on Valentine’s Day. I realized that Valentine’s Day does not have to be limited to romantic love. I celebrated this year by baking a chocolate strawberry cake for my family. My mom also bought me flowers and that really made my day. I am so thankful that I am fortunate enough to spend time with my family. Especially since there are people who have lost loved ones due to the pandemic.
