UCCS faced Arkansas-Fort Smith on Sept. 7 in the third game of the Mountain Lion Classic. After losing the first two sets by less than 4 points each, UCCS was victorious in the final three sets to win the match, 3-2. The victory was the third of four wins in the pre-season Mountain Lion Classic.
Outside hitter #14 Emily Pruitt led the team with 25 kills against Arkansas-Fort Smith. #9 Avery Ahlers and #12 Mackenzie Ransom were the backbone of a strong defense, with Ahlers recording 10 successful blocks and Ransom with a team-high 16 digs.
