The women’s basketball team was defeated by Regis, 86-69, in their final regular season game on March 1. The Mountain Lions celebrated their graduating seniors Maison White, Emily Vidal, Krystina Hagood, Amaya Snowden and Ellen Silva before the game.
UCCS kept Regis to a short lead for most of the first quarter until Regis went on a scoring streak to finish the first with a 6-point lead, 25-19. Regis maintained a double-digit lead in the second quarter, until a jumper by redshirt junior guard Amyah Moore Allen brought the lead down to 8 points, 39-31, to end the half. UCCS had the lead for roughly a minute in the third quarter, but Regis took control for the rest of the game with a lead that peaked at 20 points.
Moore Allen led the team’s scoring with 18 points, followed by White’s 11 points. White recorded team highs with 8 rebounds and 2 steals.
The No. 6 seeded Mountain Lions play No. 3 Adams State on March 4 in the RMAC Championship tournament quarterfinals.
