Mountain Lions women’s soccer defeated Black Hills State by scoring a pair of goals in each half on Oct. 18.
Midfielder Fie Steenberg scored the first of the team’s goals in the 19th minute with an assist from forward Jessica Rockwell.
Rockwell also had the assist for forward Amelia McManus’s goal in the 32nd minute. In the second half, midfielder Luka Johnson scored a goal in the 48th minute, while midfielder Emily Aguilar added a goal of her own in the 53rd minute.
Two days later, the Mountain Lions won 1-0 against Regis University. The team stands at a current record of 5-6-2 after the wins and is on a 3-game-win streak.
The Mountain Lions play next at Colorado Mesa this Thursday, Oct. 24, at 4 p.m. and at Westminster on Oct. 27 at noon. They return home on Oct. 31 against New Mexico Highlands at 6 p.m.
