The Study Break: “The Romantic”

Bruno Mars’ new album “The Romantic” is one worth loving, and definitely worth not replying to a couple of discussion posts.

This album is a great listen for your commute or just driving around the city, with a run time of 32 minutes over nine songs. Being a long-time Bruno Mars fan, it is nice to see that he still likes to make a story with his music. Each song has a relatable message, and you can spend each track searching for it.

“The Romantic,” whisks you away with the blend of his classic genres. The fluctuation of genres makes you feel like you’re in the middle of falling in love. Mars pays homage to previous works while still delivering something refreshing and new.

Throughout “The Romantic” Mars orchestrates the relatability of yearning for love and the feeling of obtaining it. Fans will feel the empathy on this one.

My personal favorite song off the album is “Dance With Me.” The romantic lyricism felt like a true ode to a significant other.

While this is his first solo album in almost a decade, it is one for the books. I am happy to say that Bruno Mars’ “The Romantic” is worth the procrastination if soul and pop are up your alley.
