After a two-year run, the “Windmill Project” is in its final weeks on display along the bluffs behind the Ent Center.
The installation consists of 2,000 eight-foot poles topped with an anemometer. When activated by the wind, this device spins, powering a generator that illuminates LED lights. The result is a light display that mimics the movement of the wind.
The Ent Center is hosting a free night hike event to the Windmill Project at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13. Attendees will begin at the Ent Center and hike up to the installation.
The Windmill Project was put up in October 2020 and will be on display through Oct. 24.
