UCCS has launched the 2025 Campus & Workplace Climate (CWC) Survey, an anonymous survey about campus conditions, which will remain open until Nov. 12.
Students, staff and faculty were sent individual links to access the survey on Oct. 22. Those who have not received a link are encouraged to email [email protected], according to Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives Sloan Gonzales.
According to Gonzales, the survey focuses on culture, belonging, wellness and well-being
“Do you feel like your ideas are listened to? Do you feel respected in your classroom? Do you feel your peers listen to you? It’s really looking at the ability to be seen and what hinders it,” Gonzales said.
The culture and belonging portion asks students about experiences concerning safety, belonging, respect, intellectual opportunity and friendship. The wellness and well-being portion asks about the respondent’s health and their relation to the UCCS community.
UCCS previously conducted this survey in 2021, results of which can be found here. The survey led to the expansion of Clyde’s Cupboard and the MOSAIC Scholar Program, improved mentorship programs, like UCCSlead, and many other initiatives, according to UCCS News.
“The data allows folks who work in [administration] to have clear evidence to say, ‘Hey, here are areas that we’re doing really strong in, and here are areas that we can grow or enhance or add more resources to,’” Gonzales said.
The survey acts as a check and balance for the university’s operations, in accordance with the Higher Learning Commission’s (HLC) accreditation rules. UCCS has been accredited since 1970, according to the statement of accreditation status.
The survey is expected to take approximately 15-minutes to complete, according to the CWC Survey website.
After completing the survey, respondents will be emailed an “incentive pool form” which they can fill out for a chance to win an incentive. Incentives consist of parking passes, dining passes, gift cards to university services and tickets to Ent Center performances and exhibits.
Students with more questions can attend a tabling session held by the Office of Strategic Initiatives and Institutional Data, Effectiveness, and Analytics (IDEA) on Nov. 3 in Columbine Hall and Nov. 11 in the University Center.
