Mountain Lion Connect (MLC) received a face lift to improve its usability for campus life.
Jamie Smith, the Coordinator of Student Clubs, Organizations and Leadership Student Life at UCCS, said updates were made to MLC as the university “looking for a more user-friendly service that our students could use to find out ways to get involved on campus”.
“For our student groups who are using Mountain Lion Connect to manage their organizations and post events, it’s cleaner, easier, and streamlines processes more than before,” said Smith. “Overall, this Mountain Lion Connect update provides students with resources and opportunities on campus.”
The updated MLC helps students follow their club involvement, SGA or First Year Experience through the “Track Involvement” page.
For event coordinators, MLC has added an RSVP feature, which also subscribes those who RSVP to notifications about the event.
“If you’re hungry in between classes and looking for free food, you can look at the events page and select ‘Free Food’ and it will list all the events that are happening right now with free food,” said Smith.
Smith describes the updated version of MLC as a “more organized and easier to find” platform, when it comes to information on clubs and campus life.
Student Life hopes to increase student participation on the platform with the recent shift to ‘Engage,’ the platform that UCCS has leased from Campus Labs.
Smith hopes that these updates will “show students how much really goes on this campus all the time.”
“Student Life, other departments, and our hardworking student organizations all put on such a variety of programs throughout the year, and Mountain Lion Connect is one place to find out what all of these great events are,” Smith said.
