The preliminary results from the SGA election have been announced. These results have not been certified by the Election Commission.
In the 2025 SGA election, about 10% of the student body voted, with 1,072 votes total, according to the announcement sent via email to all students. This is 232 students more than last year’s election participation, according to previous Scribe reporting.
The preliminary results, including president and vice president, director of finance and senator positions, are listed below. A hearing will be held on March 19 at 6:30 p.m. to hear any campaign infractions.
Executive branch
President and Vice President:
- Aidan Burke and Isabella Polombo: 697 (65%)
- Benjamin Moses and Asher Early: 278 (25.9%)
- Abstain: 97 (9.1%)
Director of Finance:
- Jordan Vasconcellos: 75.7%
- Abstain: 24.3%
Legislative branch
Senators-at-large:
- Catalina Clay: 572 (53.4%)
- Joseph Bate: 545 (50.8%)
- Chi Idika: 543 (50.6%)
- Stefan Hoffmann: 506 (47.2%)
- Walat Gozeh: 500 (46.6%)
- Abstain: 289 (26.9%)
*There are seven senator-at-large positions on senate. All five candidates who ran will serve as senator-at-large, barring any campaign infractions.
Senator of the College of Business:
- Cienna Daniels: 821 (76.6%)
- Abstain: 251 (23.4%)
Senator of the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences:
- Shivani Sharma: 504 (47%)
- Evan Martin: 328 (30.5%)
- Abstain: 240 (22.5%)
Senator of the College of Letters, Arts and Sciences:
- Sam Kopessa: 819 (76.4%)
- Abstain: 253 (23.6%)
Senator of the College of Education:
- Teri Kear: 785 (73.2%)
- Abstain: 287 (26.8%)
Senator of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences:
- Breanna Fraker: 804 (75%)
- Abstain: 268 (25%)
Senator of Multicultural Affairs:
- Emmanuella Appiah: 816 (76.1%)
- Abstain: 256 (23.9%)
Senator of Military Affairs:
- Skylaa Van Linn: 798 (74.4%)
- Abstain: 274 (25.6%)
Senator of Commuter Students:
- Brittany Iheomamere: 813 (75.8%)
- Abstain: 259 (24.2%)
Senator of Clubs, Organizations and Greek Life:
- Olivia Abeyta: 809 (75.5%)
- Abstain: 263 (24.5%)
There will be six open positions on senate at the start of the Fall 2025 semester, as there were no candidates for these positions. These positions are senator of the college of public service, senator of sustainability, senator of the arts, senator of innovation and two senator-at-large positions.
