Ready or not, a romantic reset is on its way: love and pleasure planet Venus is entering passionate Aries. But Venus isn’t so comfortable in Aries, as we’ll all soon see starting March 21, when the planet of romance enters the cardinal fire sign, initiating a livewire love transit that lasts through April 14.
With Venus in Aries, we’re direct and spontaneous with our affections, if not a bit gutsy and impatient. And we take a forward-thinking approach to love and life relationships. The pains of the past matter very little (if at all) during Venus in Aries. Instead, we’re intensely focused on chasing and conquering something — or someone — new.
Now, this doesn’t mean we’ll all be dumping our current lover to pursue a new crush (though the thought will cross the minds of Aries, Gemini, Sagittarius and Aquarius), but we will be more concerned with spicing things up in existing relationships or trying something brand new.
For those who are single, Venus in Aries will rev up your appetite for self-love and radical self-acceptance. If you’re single and looking, Venus in Aries will encourage you to be more daring to put yourself out there: download a new dating app or send that hottie in your literature class a chat message on Teams. With Venus in Aries, it’s all about being unafraid with our passions!
In an existing relationship? Make it a point to embrace one another’s autonomy. Don’t feel like you have to do everything together all the time — but be sure to keep up with the compliments and cuddles. Aries is the sign of the infant, and infants need lots and lots of kisses and kind words. So, despite longing for independence, Venus in Aries also makes us crave verbal and physical affection. Like, a lot.
As part of her connection to love and romance, Venus is also the planet of relationships and merging. Unfortunately, independent Aries wants nothing to do with merging. Venus in Aries wants to be free to conquer whatever interest strikes its fancy.
Astrologically speaking, Venus is in detriment in Aries. This essentially means the values of the planet and the fiery expression of the sign clash, which can make love feel equally exciting and exhausting. This will be especially noticeable on March 28, when Venus in Aries directly opposes the Full Moon in Libra. (More on that to come.)
Fellow fire signs (Leo and Sagittarius) and air signs (Gemini and Aquarius) will benefit most from 2021 Venus in Aries. Meanwhile, cardinal signs Libra, Cancer and Capricorn might feel this to be a more stressful time in their love lives. A word of wisdom: with stress comes change!
Regardless of your sign, there’s absolutely no reason why you should fear the 2021 Venus in Aries transit. It can be a great time for jazzing up an existing relationship, making love more exciting. Or it can encourage you to get out of your shell a little bit and boldly pursue the passions of your heart. Either way, it’s a great way to start Spring 2021.
